John R. Orie, Jr. (Jack)

Jack Orie has been a trial lawyer for more than 42 years, handling a variety of cases including medical negligence, wrongful death, homicide, personal injury, DUI and complex commercial litigation.

Jack has represented individuals and small businesses from all walks of life, including several judges and lawyers. Jack is licensed to practice in all courts in Pennsylvania and has been involved in cases in Ohio, West Virginia, Florida, and New York. He has tried more than 150 jury trials to verdict. Some of Jack’s cases received national attention and set precedent in state and federal courts.

• In a bank lender liability case, Jack achieved a $9 million verdict for his client.

• In a bad faith case against an insurance company, Jack got a $1.8 million dollar verdict when an insurance company refused to pay a business loss claim.

• Jack has also secured sizable settlements in various types of cases, including a $9 million settlement in a complex commercial case and a $5 million settlement when a cellular tower collapsed on his clients.

STEPHEN J. ZIVIC

Steve Zivic is a founding member of the firm, starting it with Jack Orie in 1976.  Steve has been a lawyer for over 45 years, primarily handling estate planning, estate administration, and commercial law.

MANAGING PARTNER

Jon Orie

Jon started working for his father at the age of 12, and grew up to follow in his father’s footsteps as a trial lawyer. Jon has extensive trial experience and has obtained six figure verdicts in both an motor vehicle accident case and a case where his client was shot with a BB gun.

Today his trial work focuses mostly on litigation, and since 2009, Jon has been named a Pennsylvania Rising Star in SuperLawyers magazine, a distinction reserved for the top five percent of attorneys in Pennsylvania. He is a member of Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, an “invitation only” organization. It is Jon’s extensive civil trial experience that qualified him to be elected for this honorary membership.

Jon is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and all other courts in the Commonwealth. Jon is also a member of the Federal CJA Panel, representing clients charged with crimes in federal court. Jon frequently handles cases in both state and federal court.

Trevor Fleming

Trevor started working for the firm the summer after completing law school. He has focused primarily on civil litigation, estate planning, and administration during this time.

Trevor is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and all other courts in the Commonwealth as well as the Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Office Administrator

Kimberly Tierney

Kim joined the firm in 1991. As an indispensable member of our firm with more than 28 years of experience in professional legal assistant and office administrator positions, and a track record of strong performance in high-volume, high-pressure environments, Kim skillfully manages administrative duties and client relations at Orie & Zivic.

Kim is a graduate of Norwin High School, thereafter, earning an Associate Degree in Legal Secretarial Sciences at IBM School of Business. 

As Office Administrator, she provides support to the lawyers and ensures the smooth operation of the firm with her robust knowledge of law office management and efficient handling of client inquiries, consultations, and timely access to lawyers as required.
